The Annapolis Business Group is a
group of professionals formed with the purpose of developing business leads
through regular networking and relationship building.
The objectives of the Annapolis Business
Group are to:
- make all members' businesses more visible
- train a sales force (other members) to
market your business
- share (give and receive) good business
leads
- build long-term personal relationships
- process business ideas and suggestions
- brainstorm with other business people
- stimulate training opportunities
- improve your communications skills
- depend on each other for courage, ideas
and accountability
- rely on others for group problem solving
Weekly Meetings
We meet on a weekly basis each Thursday
at 7:30 am. The official meeting begins at 7:45 am and
ends promptly at 8:45 am. We currently meet at The Chart House in Eastport.
Meeting Agenda
- introduction of guest(s)
- 30-second introduction by each member
- announcements
- discuss business issues, ideas or concerns
- exchange business leads
- share testimonies about members
- 10-minute showcase presentation by one member
- 30-second closing by members
On the 1st Thursday of each month,
a business meeting is held during which time guest speakers are invited
and group business is discussed.
Quarterly Socials
The group also holds quarterly social events
at the home or business of one of the members (on a volunteer basis). The
host member is provided with a specified amount to apply toward the related
costs. Guests are encouraged to attend our socials as a way of meeting our
members .. contact any one of our members to attend our next social being

Members are also encouraged to schedule breakfast/lunch
meetings with other members in order to get to know them better.

Officers
Our officers rotate through each position beginning
with Secretary and hold each role for a 6-month period. At the beginning
of the subsequent 6-month period, a volunteer is asked to take the role
of Secretary and each officer moves up one level. Our current officers are
listed below:
President (Ryan Hughes ): responsible for
general group administration and running the meetings.
Vice President (Steve Kling): responsible
for scheduling speakers for meetings and keeping track of membership details
and business meeting materials.
Treasurer (Sue Smith): responsible for keeping
records for the group's bank account, collecting dues and other incidental
expenses as agreed to by a quorum of the membership.
Secretary (Sandi Latham): responsible for keeping
records of meetings and votes.
